Editation Station Continued Well our desk is completed! I am extremely pleased with its outcome. I’m glad that I ripped it apart last week and made our living and working arrangements so extremely difficult because we both start schoooo this week and now our desk is done just in time for the big studies…

We built a full height queen-sized loft bed (oploftbeds.com is awesome!) and then added in a tremendous wrap around desk made of solid aspen. To reduce floor space usage, we did away with using legs at all. We modified the original oploftbed desk mod (because who really wants a desk the entire size of a queen sized bed??) and added in chains as the two “legs”. Chained to the BedThe chains are quite the incredible addition to our bedroom…

Life is as crazy as ever for us. We’ve been spending loads of time in Milwaukee, reacquainting with an old friend and having lots of fun. She has a beautiful old house with her typical vintage bulbs and crazy ass flowers that only she could find because she truly is from the 40′s (or even earlier). Its nice to have the freedom to just step outside. I spent a lot of time in her yard one morning, just because I could. I’ve forgotten how you can take things for granted–like stepping on something that ISN’T CEMENT! That’s a luxury not afforded to poor people in the city. So it’s been nice to leach off of her space when she’ll allow it.

We’re starting to rev up on a few new ideas, but I live pretty much every day in pain at this point so its hard. There’s no end in sight for the pain, so I’m trying to learn to live with it. Its hard when pain is in your head, because concentrating is a nightmare. And here I go…starting a class. Oh well, life hands us what it has to…when it has to. I’m sure I’ll laugh about this later. Much much much later.

We have some major Stevie Nicks missions ahead of us and for that–I could not be happier. I am so thrilled, I can’t even bring myself to speak of it out of fear that it will disintegrate before my very eyes! More about that…a little later.
